The 5th Collection by Roby Joe celebrates individuality. This body of work is centered around one of one items. Each design is different and made with deadstock or second-hand fabric – that is sourced from all over the US. I try to make my clothing as sustainable as possible, this also makes each piece different and have its own story. This combats waste and war with fast fashion. Aesthetically – the collection lies in a realm of maximalism! More is more – on the edge of camp – it’s theater. There is an element of performance – there is a nod to the early 2000s. Leaning into how a garment is made – thinking about construction and destruction.
